Overview
Hard Water Index is currently a static, account-free website. You can search local reports and read guides without creating a profile or submitting your name, address, or telephone number.
Information processed automatically
The web host and security infrastructure may process standard request data, such as IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, referring page, timestamps, and security events. This information is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose faults, and maintain security.
City and ZIP searches run in your browser against the site's published index. Hard Water Index does not currently provide user accounts, comments, newsletters, or advertising features.
Website analytics
The site loads an analytics script from stats.kzfm.com to understand aggregate usage, such as page views, referring pages, and general browser or device categories. When the script and its collection endpoint are requested, that service may process standard network metadata including IP address, user agent, requested page, referrer, and timestamp.
Analytics information is used to understand which public pages are useful, find navigation problems, and maintain the service. It is not used by Hard Water Index to create visitor accounts or serve targeted advertising. You can block the analytics request with browser privacy controls or a content blocker without preventing access to the site's water reports.

The site links to government sources and may link to third-party products. Those sites receive information when you choose to visit them and apply their own privacy policies. A sponsored or affiliate relationship is labeled where applicable.
Retention and sharing
Operational logs may be retained by the hosting provider for security and reliability according to its configured retention period. Hard Water Index does not sell personal information. Data may be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the service and its users.
